Roughnecks release 2024-25 schedule; home-opener party set for Dec. 28

The Calgary Roughnecks have released their 2024-25 schedule, highlighted by a home-opener party on Dec. 28.

That’s when the National Lacrosse League club will host the rival Vancouver Warriors on WestJet Field.

The Roughnecks are set to open the campaign with two road games, starting Dec. 7 against the Halifax Thunderbirds.

The 18-game schedule sees the Riggers take on familiar opponents as well as new faces. Calgary will play each of the other 13 NLL teams at least once, and will face off twice against the Warriors, Las Vegas Desert Dogs, Colorado Mammoth, Buffalo Bandits and Saskatchewan Rush.

The Rochester Knighthawks will visit Scotiabank Saddledome on Feb. 22 for the first time since the expansion team entered the league in 2020. Calgary will also visit the Ottawa Black Bears on Jan. 31 during their inaugural season, after the New York Riptide were rebranded and moved to Canada’s capital.

The Roughnecks’ schedule includes one home doubleheader weekend, with games on Feb. 14 and 16 against Saskatchewan and Las Vegas.

The Riggers will also play a travel doubleheader, starting in Las Vegas on April 18 before heading back to Calgary to host Colorado the next day in their regular-season finale.

Another calendar highlight for fans is March 15, when the Roughnecks will host Buffalo for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Party.
