Jake Paul, MrBeast launch Lunchables competitor they claim is ‘healthier’

Popular YouTube personalities Logan Paul, MrBeast and KSI have launched what they claim to be a “healthier” kids’ and adults’ lunch brand meant to outdo “mid” competitors like Kraft Heinz’s iconic Lunchables.

Lunchly advertises a “groundbreaking new better-for-you lunch option” with its trio of products: turkey and cheese crackers, nacho chips and salsa, and a pizza option. Each comes with a Prime brand sports drink by Paul and KSI — they were recently sued by a manufacturer and separately by the US Olympic committee — along with a MrBeast Feastables candy bar made with rice puffs.

“Our end game has always been to not only provide high quality products, but also healthier alternatives,” Paul said in a release, adding that it is “time to provide a better option for those looking for a convenient, healthier choice.”

The most significant nutritional difference between the two major labels is that the electrolyte count from a Prime beverage is 400 milligrams — as opposed to the 55 milligrams of it in a Lunchables Capri-Sun pouch.

In the nachos offering, chips are made with vegetable and canola oil and the cheese is cornstarch-based.

Compared to the Lunchables equivalent, Lunchly has 10 sugar grams versus 22 and 90 fewer calories at 360 compared to 450.

The turkey stack ’ems, with corn syrup-based crackers, also have much less sugar at 7 grams compared to 21 in Lunchables. The calorie difference also favors Lunchly at 230 versus 310.

Like the nachos, Lunchly’s cornstarch, salt and cane sugar pepperoni-based pizza offering is also 12 grams of sugar instead of 20 from Lunchables. There is a small calorie differential Lunchly has at 360 compared to 390.

Although advertised as a healthier alternative, several recent studies have associated the consumption of processed foods with lower life spans and increased risks of cancer.

One recent report found that those who ate high amounts of processed foods had a 4% higher risk of dying, with a 9% increased risk of their fatality coming by a neuro-generative cause.

Another study found that people who ate 10% more processed foods than others were at a 23% higher risk of head and neck cancer.
