French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati misses Olympic final after manhood catches on crossbar

Something rather uncomfortable got in the way of French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati advancing toward his Olympic dream.

Ammirati’s manhood, still in his shorts, ended up clipping the crossbar and sending it crashing down as he tried to clear a height of 5.70m during his third attempt at the Paris Olympics on Saturday.

The 21-year-old, who won gold at the World Athletics U20 Championships in 2022, had cleared two previous heights, but the miss kept him from advancing out of his heat and left NBC commentators at a loss for worlds.

Ammirati finished with a combined score of 5.60 — only good enough for 12th — after four attempts.

His knee hit the bat on another attempt at 5.70.

It is his only event at these Olympics.

The clip immediately went viral and caused a surge of followers to Ammirati’s Instagram account as fans couldn’t help but have fun with Ammirati’s crushing moment.

“oh he brought that baguette to the games, X user @Cheetara1986 wrote.

“He is vaulting with the wrong pole, added X user @nifty_cents.

Ammirati’s French teammate Thibaut Collet also did not advance, placing 11th.

Sweden’s Armand Gustav Duplantis is the favorite to win the event.
