Adele suffered a wardrobe malfunction at the opening night of her concert series in Munich after heavy rain left her dress train drenched.

The Rolling in the Deep singer, 36, is performing in Munich as part of her 10-concert residency at the Messe München outdoor arena between August 2 and 31.

However, the first of her shows didn’t exactly go off without a hitch – beset by a fashion faux paus and a severe weather warning in the area.

Taking to the stage, Adele wowed fans in a full-length blue dress with a huge billowing train, which mopped up the torrential rain from the floor.

And, as the storm continued, the singer was forced to pause the concert to take care of her increasingly rain-sodden dress.

With the help of her backing singers, the Skyfall singer then removed the massive train, lightening her load.

A video from the X account Adelettes2 captured the moment on camera, showing the drenched crowd watching as she paused the gig to disrobe.

‘Adele had to get the girls to take off the train of her 👗’ read the caption to the 75-second long video.

The stadium’s massive monitors show the music icon talking to her fans as she is assisted in removing the soggy garment.

As she paused the show to take care of business, Adele told the crowd: ‘Sadly I have to take this gorgeous train off because it is wet and heavy.’

As she called her backing singers over to help take the train off, she joked: ‘At least it’s not thundering and lightening. Jesus!

‘I got a weather update and it said it wasn’t gonna be raining in time for the show, so I thought: “Let me wear this dress with this enormous train on it” like a right fanny. I was underneath the stage back there.’

As her backing singers continued with the task, Adele continued to banter with the audience, saying: ‘I can hear you all by the way. You lot in the corner over here on this side, you’re a real vibe but then you had me shook cos one of you was like “We can see you under there” and I’m standing in my underwear!

‘Anyway I’m gonna go into another song for you, this dress is quite complicated.’

The singers then carried the sopping wet train off to the side of the stage. ‘Thanks girls – look at it dripping!’ the singer remarked as she watched it go.

The concert came amid ongoing weather warnings in the country – with Adele having to cancel her final dress rehearsal on Thursday as a result of explosive lightning and incredible storms.

Still, excited fans piled into the venue yesterday, where they watched the star perform the first of her 10 planned shows in Munich.

Meanwhile, the venue revealed the emergency plan in place, should the weather get too much.

‘Should the worst-case scenario of a concert cancellation occur, a “safe room” is available for all visitors, which can be accessed quickly but calmly as instructed,’ read the official statement.

The star’s wardrobe malfunction and weather woes come amid a series of disasters which have surrounded her Munich residency.

Last month, fans were expressed disappointment after the Hello singer released a series of promotional images which appeared to have been created with generative AI.

Close-up inspection of one of the images – in which she wields a massive beer while surrounded by deformed pretzels and German snacks – made it look like Adele has no fingernail on her thumb, and seemed to be wearing a dress with a lettuce trim.

‘What was stopping her from just buying a dirndl and beer and forgoing the freaky AI mess altogether?’ asked one disappointed fan, while others acknowledged what seemed to be a joke from Adele.

One wouldn’t blame the star from needing a break after all this – and it appears that is what Adele has planned next.

‘I don’t have any plans for new music at all,’ she told German magazine ZDF.

‘I want a big break after this, and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.’
