Wanuskewin to offer free admission each Sunday in August

The park and SGI announced a one-year, $31,000 funding agreement on Wednesday.

That’s why the one-year funding agreement announced Wednesday between SGI and Wanuskewin is so important, Felix Thomas said.

The $31,000 investment will help fund learning experiences at the park, including exhibits, presentations, tours and demonstrations. It will also cover visitor admission costs each Sunday in August, allowing anyone to attend the park for free on those days.

“This partnership will help support many immersive and educational experiences at the park,” Thomas added.

“The opportunity to enhance our facilities and experiences is welcome as we pursue our designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.”

Saskatchewan Party MLA Lisa Lambert said that as a former member of Wanuskewin’s board of directors, she knows “firsthand the wonderful testimonies of those who visit Wanuskewin.”

The park includes indoor exhibits, walking trails with archeological points of interest, a playground, a restaurant, an Indigenous-led and curated gift shop, and the opportunity to see Wanuskewin’s repatriated bison herd.
