Simone Biles shares gold medal-winning USA gymnastics’ NSFW team nickname

The world certainly found out about Team USA gymnastics.

After securing gold in the women’s gymnastics team all-around on Tuesday, Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera were the center of an awkward yet hilarious moment during a press conference that involved a former Olympic gymnast.

Two-time Olympic champion Aly Raisman had asked Biles what the “team name” was for this year’s Olympic squad, prompting some hesitation from the American gymnastics superstar.

Several of her teammates quickly jumped in to suggest Biles not say before she replied, “I’m not going to say it.”

That’s when someone suggested that Biles abbreviate the name, which then elicited several seconds of trying to abbreviate what the name was.

“F.A.A.F.O.,” she said at first before someone let it slip what the meaning behind the acronym was: “F—k around and find out.”

The admission elicited plenty of laughter from the assembled press in the room and Biles seemed to cover her face when the not-safe-for-work team name was revealed.

Biles later went on social media to reveal that the team did have a bit of a more wholesome name.

“okay on the real though, the official team name is golden girls (because oldest olympic team),” Biles wrote on X.

Biles and company had already made a bit of history by being the oldest women’s gymnastics team that the U.S. has sent to the Olympics.

Biles, 27, became the older American gymnast to win gold on Tuesday.

The veteran team only includes one newcomer, Rivera, 16.

The Americans captured gold on Tuesday finishing with 171.296 points while Italy took home silver and Brazil won Bronze.

The gold medalists and gymnastics superstars celebrated in the only appropriate way in 2024: with a few TikTok posts.

Biles posted a behind-the-scenes video with teammates Lee, Chiles and Rivera as the four pretended to take bites out of their gold medals.

In another video posted by Lee, the women were again rightfully showing off their new hardware as the celebration continued.
