Montreal weather: Rain to offer brief respite from the heat wave

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Environment Canada is forecasting a brief, rain-based interruption in Montreal’s week-long heat wave on Wednesday.

The daytime forecast includes showers with a risk of thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected to peak at 25 degrees — or 33 if you factor in the humidex.

There may be a thunderstorm early in the evening and the overnight low will be 22 degrees.

Lest you get too excited about this forecast, the heat wave is due to resume normal service on Thursday and continue on Friday.

Quote of the day:

The soul is placed in the body like a rough diamond, and must be polished, or the luster of it will never appear.
