Jonathan Owens gushes over Simone Biles’ latest Olympics gold medal win

Simone Billes’ husband, Bears safety Jonathan Owens, is in Paris supporting the now five-time Olympic gold medalist.

“Witnessing history every time you step on the mat,” Owens captioned an Instagram post featuring him wearing Biles’ latest gold medal and a “Biles” Olympics t-shirt while the two embraced and kissed.

“Congrats baby on becoming the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history!!!! Just wow!!!! 8 of them!!!!! So thankful i was there to see it.”

Owens received an excused absence from the Bears to attend the summer Olympics and cheer on Biles, while his teammates go through their usual training camp progressions.

He watched Tuesday as Biles and Team USA won gold in the women’s gymnastics final in what was dubbed the “Redemption Tour,” with the unit having won silver in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Owens’ t-shirt certainly drew some eyeballs, with NBC highlighting the clothing piece in a tweet.

Ironically, while Biles is unmistakable for her incredible athletic talents, Owens previously said he was unaware of her fame and ability during the early days of their romance.

“I didn’t know who she was at the time, but the first thing that I saw was that she just had a bunch of followers so in my mind, I’m like, ‘OK, she got to be good,’” Owens said.
