BROWNSBURG-CHATHAM — Two people were fighting for their lives Sunday after the driver, a man in his 80s, lost control of the vehicle he was driving in the Laurentian region of Brownsburg-Chatham and hit a tree.
Emergency services were called at around 9:45 a.m. about a collision on Route 148 involving a single vehicle, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The driver and his passenger, a woman in her 70s, were transported to hospital in critical condition, and there are fears for both their lives.
According to initial information, for an as-yet undetermined reason, “the driver of the vehicle, which was travelling eastbound, lost control and deviated from his lane before colliding with a tree located at the side of the road,” said SQ spokesperson Adam Marineau.
