Thomas has been suspended indefinitely from Georgia’s football team, according to the Associated Press.

The athletic department told the outlet that “this is a pending legal matter. We will have no further comment at this point.”

Last year, Thomas was arrested on one felony charge of false imprisonment, plus one misdemeanor count of family violence battery.

Those charges were dropped when he went through a pretrial diversion program.

Thomas caught 23 balls for 383 yards and a touchdown for the Bulldogs last season.

Georgia’s football program has faced a remarkable amount of trouble with the law, mainly pertaining to driving offenses since last year.

Since an incident where a team staffer and offensive lineman Devin Willock died in a car wreck sustained while racing, Georgia’s football program has collectively faced 25 arrests or citations for speeding, racing or reckless driving.

“The incidents that we’ve had off the field are not something that we condone,” Georgia’s head coach Kirby Smart said earlier this month at SEC media days. “It’s very unfortunate, disappointing I guess is the best word. I always talk about process and outcomes. I talked about that with wins and losses that we try not to base things on the outcomes with wins and losses. In this situation, the outcomes are very disappointing.”
