Transport networks across the UK are feeling the heat with school summer holidays now in full swing.

Flights have been cancelled for the second day at London’s Gatwick and Heathrow airports, while disruption has also hit rail networks in the capital.

London commuters faced rush-hour after trains were suspended on the Elizabeth line on Wednesday. Chaos hit during the morning commute, with the entire Abbey Wood-Paddington section suspended due to an electricity supply failure.

Some trains were cancelled and many were delayed by up to 30 minutes. While all lines have now reopened, disruption is expected at least until 9.30am as the service recovers.
