Angel Reese was rubbing elbows with NBA stars courtside in London.
The Chicago Sky rookie sensation was sitting in the front row — in between the Suns’ Kevin Durant and Warriors’ Steph Curry — at O2 Arena on Tuesday, cheering on the U.S. women’s national basketball team as it defeated Germany, 84-57, in their final exhibition game before stepping onto the Olympic stage.
Reese, donning a pink Balenciaga outfit before going into a black dress, and the NBA stars — who are competing for the men’s side in Paris — watched Team USA start strong with a 22-9 lead against the Germans — who are making their Olympic debut in the women’s basketball competition.
Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson posted a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Olympic veteran Breanna Stewart of the Liberty contributed 15 points, six rebounds and five assists.
Connecticut Sun forward Alyssa Thomas put up eight points, seven rebounds and four assists.
“We need to continue to make sure our starts in the third get better every single game,” said U.S. forward Stewart. “It’s a tune-up game. We don’t want to peak too soon.”
After falling short against the WNBA All-Star team that featured Reese and Caitlin Clark this past weekend in Phoenix, the players were eager to bounce back.
As the first rookies to earn All-Star honors since 2014, Reese and Clark — the respective No. 7 and No. 1 picks in the 2024 WNBA Draft — joined forces on the WNBA All-Star team that toppled Team USA,117-109.
The LSU product, who set a WNBA record with 15 straight double-doubles, made a splash with 12 points and 11 rebounds coming off the bench.
Clark, the Fever superstar guard, finished with a game-high 10 assists — five of which came from the second quarter — four points and two steals across 26 minutes, tying the record for second-most assists recorded in a WNBA All-Star match.
The WNBA season resumes on Aug. 15 following the Olympic break.
Team USA will kick off group stage play on July 29 at 3 p.m. ET against Japan, with its next game slated for Aug. 1 against Belgium.
A rematch against Germany is set for Aug. 4.
