WASHINGTON — Donald Trump told The Post on Monday that Veep Kamala Harris is “vicious and dumb,” railing against his potential presidential rival in one of his first interviews since President Biden dropped his bid for a second term.
“There are two words to describe Kamala Harris. Vicious and dumb, it’s a bad combination,” the 78-year-old Republican presidential nominee said the day after Biden dropped out of the race and urged Democrats to unite behind his vice president as the party’s top candidate in the Nov. 5 election.
Harris, 59, is now frantically working to coalesce Democratic support mere days ahead of virtual voting to formalize her expected replacement of Biden, 81.
Harris, a former prosecutor and California senator, drew attention during the Dems’ last presidential primary race for her sharp criticisms of Biden as the pair vied for the nomination. He won the battle and later picked her as his running mate.
The future VP brutally attacked Biden at the time for once opposing interracial school busing and also making some women uncomfortable during interactions with them.
“There was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools, and she was bused to school every day. That little girl was me!” Harris told Biden on a 2019 debate stage while blasting his record on bussing.
First lady Jill Biden reportedly was furious at the attack on her husband and said afterward that Harris should “go f–k” herself.
Several women also alleged during that race that they were the victims of unwanted kissing and touching by Biden, prompting Harris to say at the time, “I believe them, and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it.”
Harris began her political career as San Francisco district attorney between 2004 and 2011 — and has drawn left-wing unease over the fact that she supervised 1,900 marijuana convictions, despite later saying in a 2019 radio interview that she smoked pot in college while listening to Tupac and Snoop Dogg.

In the Trump campaign’s first ad after Biden selected Harris as his running mate in August 2020, she was branded a “phony.”
The ex-president more recently has dubbed her “Laffin’ Kamala,” in reference to her frequent uproarious laughter at events. Last year, he told TV’s Tucker Carlson that she “speaks in rhyme,” referring to her “word salads” of imprecise and circular commentary.
If Harris secures the Democratic nomination, Republicans are expected to focus heavily on her performance as Biden’s “border czar” for the past three years. Biden tasked her in March 2021 with addressing the “root causes” of illegal immigration, which instead proceeded to set new record highs.
