Between 1983 and 1987, Diana Moran hosted the popular exercise segment of BBC1’s Breakfast Time programme.

Due to her trademark green leotard, she became known as the Green Goddess, going on to release a book, record and video, Get Fit with the Green Goddess, in 1984.

Now, 30 years on, she’s appeared on TV again, with her appearance leaving many blown away.

The 85-year-old appeared on This Morning on Monday to speak about her career and what she’s been up to in the decades since.

‘She looks fab for 85yrs,’ user MrsTHenry shared.

Others commented how ‘great she looked’ and only appeared to be in her 60s.

Meanwhile another called her ‘a role model for fitness’ after she then ran a segment on workout tips.

Speaking to hosts Joel Dommett and Alison Hammond, Diana said she became the Green Goddess ‘totally by mistake’.

‘It wasn’t planned at all. I was a personnel and welfare officer in a big department store in the West Country and because I’m so tall, one day they asked me to be a model in one of their fashion shows’ she explained.

After being approached by the channel HTV, Diana started presenting afternoon programmes for them before the BBC came calling.

‘They were starting Breakfast Time, and I got a phone call asking if I would like to come and be on the show for the first week, and I was there for four years!’

During the pandemic, the national broadcaster approached Diana again and asked if she could create some fitness videos.

‘I did it for people who were at home sitting there bored and couldn’t go to gyms but because of course I am an older person I had to do it in a quieter way than all those years ago,’ she recalled.

‘Obviously I can’t do as much and as dramatically as I used to, but it’s essential you keep yourself fit.

‘Life is richer. I know having got to this age now and the ones who have kept fit and are able to move around get the full enjoyment from life.’

She added: ‘If you keep the body fit, you also keep the body fit.’

Aside from appearing on Breakfast Time, Diana also presented a daily programme on the Overseas Property Channel and was a regular contributor to BBC Breakfast and Five’s The Wright Stuff.

In 2007, she starred in a music video for the band Superthriller, reprising her role as an aerobics instructor.

Five years later, in 2012, she started presenting the radio show We’ve Got Mail on the DAB radio station.
