Who doesn’t love a good offer — and this current deal from Tesco could see millions of Clubcard users get more out of their supermarket shop.
If you are the proud holder of a Tesco Clubcard, you may be able to earn up to £50 in bonus points over the next few weeks.
How? The supermarket has brought back its Clubcard Challenges promotion, with the offer running until Sunday 25 August.
The promotion previously ran in May, and saw shoppers presented with spending challenges which could see them win points.
Each challenge was based on a shopper’s spending habits and could be anything from splurging £20 on Tesco’s summer BBQ range or nabbing plant-based ready meals for just a tenner.
This time around, customers will be given 20 challenges to choose from and will be able to complete up to 10 of them. All challenges will be shown via email or on the Tesco app — but don’t worry, if you change your mind, you can deselect one and choose another.
The maximum amount of points up for grabs that count towards your Tesco shop is 5,000 Clubcard points (equivalent to £50). This is what you could earn from completing all 10 challenges.
Alternatively, if you complete the challenges but don’t necessarily need the points for shopping, you could redeem up to £100 with one of Tesco’s ‘Reward Partners’ such as Cineworld, Pizza Express and Thorpe Park.
During a regular shop, £1 gets you one Clubcard point and you need 100 of these to get £1 in Tesco vouchers.
So how do you know for sure if you’re eligible for Clubcard Challenges?
To find out if you can take part in the Clubcard Challenges, keep an eye on your inbox and look for an email invitation from Tesco.
You can also keep checking the Tesco Grocery and Clubcard apps, as you will receive a notification if you’re eligible to partake in the promotion.
If you do get picked for the scheme, perhaps just think carefully about which challenges you try out. The team at MoneySavingExpert has warned shoppers not to use the promotion as an excuse to ‘overspend’.
They said: ‘Only buy what you were planning to anyway and see the challenges as an added boost if you do hit the targets.’
They urged people to keep four important ‘money mantras’ in mind when shopping, which are: ‘Do you need it? Can you afford it? Will you use it? And is it worth it?’
All very good questions!
However, if you’re on the lookout for more ways to save money, a number of other deals and offers are running at the moment.
For instance, Morrisons is helping those looking to save a little money on grocery bills this summer by teaming up with Kellogg’s to offer a free breakfast in its cafés nationwide.
The club is open to anyone and everyone (adults and children alike), you simply need to ask staff for a Kellogg’s breakfast in any of the 398 Morrisons cafés.
As part of this, you’ll be able to choose from a free bowl of iconic Kellogg’s cereal such as Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, or Coco Pops, with either dairy or non-dairy milk.
Customers can also enjoy a free portion of fruit with their breakfast, including apples, oranges, bananas, and pears.
The breakfast club will run all day, every day from July 15 to August 4 while stocks last, helping families as the summer holidays begin and many subsidised breakfast clubs are unavailable.
Martin Lewis also recently revealed how parents can nab free meals and activities for their little ones this summer.
