Jennifer Lopez was spotted wearing a necklace with her own name on it rather than her husband Ben Affleck as the divorce rumours continue.
In 2021, the 54-year-old singer rekindled her romance with Hollywood star Ben, 51, after almost two decades apart before tying the knot in a Vegas wedding in July 2022.
But only two years on there appears to be trouble in paradise.
Speculation over the couple’s relationship status started earlier this year amid J.Lo’s cancelled world tour, reports of their $60million (£46million) home going up for sale and awkward air kisses between the two.
Now, the latest piece of evidence that their whirlwind second-chance romance is over has arrived. This time in the shape of a golden necklace with a ‘Jennifer’ nameplate.
The Love Don’t Cost A Thing hitmaker was recently spotted wearing the necklace as she left Equinox in the Hamptons.
The new item of jewellery has seemingly usurped her previous personalised necklace which was her husband Ben’s name – spelled through individual letter charms and a gold heart.
In 2022, Jennifer also debuted a joint ‘Jennifer & Ben’ necklace while In February, the month the break-up rumours started to swirl, she also wore a gold-plated necklace that had Affleck written in cursive.
The latest accessory shake-up after the pair were spotted without their wedding rings.
Neither Jennifer nor the Gone Girl star have publicly addressed the state of the marriage. When the singer cancelled her tour, however, she cited wanting to ‘take time off to be with her children, family and close friends.’
According to a Daily Mail insider, Ben’s close friend Hollywood actor Matt Damon ‘tried to warn’ him when he started things back up.
‘Matt tried to warn Ben when he got back together with J Lo that this could happen,’ the source told the publication.
‘Matt was there to help Ben get it together after their first split and he felt like this would happen again.
‘As things started falling apart, Matt told Ben that he supports whatever choice he makes but wants him to jump in and focus on his work.’
Relationship experts Cheryl and Joe Dillon shared the root of the potential friction in their marriage to Metro.co.uk.
‘As a famously private person, Ben has previously been vocal about wanting to keep his personal life – as well as those of his children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner – out of the spotlight.
‘In contrast, Jennifer has always embraced being front and centre of any press attention, so understandably this disconnect may have played a significant role in the issues being faced in their marriage.’
Earlier this year the On The Floor artist released her album-accompanying docudrama, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, to mixed reviews. The musical plot traces Jennifer’s relationship history.
Her husband is currently in Los Angeles filming his next project.
