Dodgers remain World Series favorite heading into MLB’s second half

The Dodgers remain the World Series betting favorite coming out of the MLB All-Star break.

Los Angeles, which came into the year as the consensus favorite, is +320 at FanDuel Sportsbook to win it all as teams embark on the second half of the 2024 season on Friday.

While they’re still on top, an underwhelming first half has the field on the Dodgers’ tails.

The Phillies, who are an MLB-best 62-34, now have the second-best World Series odds in baseball at +400.

The Yankees, who are off to a strong start of their own, have the best odds (+550) among American League teams, just ahead of the Orioles (+750), who lead the AL East over the Bronx Bombers by one game heading into Friday’s play.

The Braves (+900) round out a clear group of teams that have separated themselves from the rest of the league.

The Guardians (+1900), Twins (+1900), Astros (+2000), Mariners (+2300) and Brewers (+2600) make up the second tier of contenders — no other team has odds better than 40-1 to win the World Series.

No matter how the second half plays out, it doesn’t appear we’re getting a repeat World Series winner.

After opening the season at +1000, the Rangers have dropped all the way to +6500 to repeat as they’ve stumbled to a 46-50 record thus far.

Last year’s National League champion Diamondbacks haven’t fared much better, sitting at 49-48 with +5000 to come out on top.

Seven teams have been given virtually zero shot at winning the title — the Nationals, Angels, A’s, White Sox, Marlins, Rockies and Tigers are all pegged at +50000.
