An off-balance shot somehow worked out for Cameron Young.
The 27-year-old American was set up for a challenging short chip on the eighth hole at the British Open on Saturday.
Young stood up on a slope slightly to the left of the green, with his feet hanging off the edge of the bunker.
“Don’t fall back dude!” one of the broadcasters said before Young took the shot. “How’s he going to do this?”
Using the sloping green from left to right, Young impressively shot the ball to the left and it rolled down perfectly onto the green to set up a close put to finish the hole.
The ball was only one awkward swerve away from going into the bunker, which would have ended in a double bogey or worse.
“What was the margin on the left there?” the same announcer said. “To the bunker — inches no?”
“You could chuck that into the bunker, you really could,” the other said.
Young saved his par and kept his third round score at 3-under through eight holes and 1-over for the tournament.
Young, who is still chasing his first major title, bogeyed on the following hole, but he finished the round even to make a little jump up the leader board.
He sits nine shots behind leader Shane Lowry.
