Montreal police investigate after pedestrian struck by car downtown

The 65-year-old man is expected to survive.

Montreal police say a 65-year-old pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in downtown Montreal on Friday morning is expected to survive.

Police had earlier said doctors feared for the man’s life.

Const. Anthony Dorelas said the man was struck by a vehicle shortly before 11 a.m. at the corner of Cheneville St. at Viger Ave. W., beside the Palais des Congrès.

Dorelas said collision investigators were on the scene Friday afternoon and have met with the driver.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is continuing, he said.
