Clint Eastwood announces his ‘lovely’ partner and companion for the past decade Christina Sandera has died aged 61.
The Hollywood icon released a statement confirming her death but has not given any further information.
‘Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much,’ he said while asking for privacy.
The couple, who met in 2014, kept incredibly private about their relationship but would attend red carpets and other glamorous events together.
Eastwood originally met Sandera when she worked as a hostess at his Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.
In 2015, she then accompanied the 94-year-old star to the Academy Awards when his film American Sniper was up for six Oscars.
She also was on Eastwood’s arm for the premieres of Sully (2016), The Mule (2018), The 15:17 to Paris (2018), and Richard Jewell (2019).
Sandera did not have any social media or keep a public presence beyond her appearances with The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly legend.
Likewise, he stays off social media and communicates mainly through spokespeople.
‘There are other people that are involved there and they’re vulnerable people,” he told CBS News in 2004, as reported by People.
‘I can protect myself, but they can’t,’ he added at the time.
Before meeting Sandera, the Dirty Harry star was married to model Maggie Johnson from 1953 to 1987, although they split much earlier in the 60s.
He also married news anchor Dina Ruiz in 1996 but the pair parted ways in 2004.
From his various relationships, Eastwood has eight children; Laurie, Kimber, Kyle, Alison, Scott, Kathryn, Francesca, and Morgan.
