The future of Strictly Come Dancing has been confirmed by the BBC, following the allegations of bullying made against two of the professional dancers.

It has been revealed that the show is set to return later this year, despite the allegations made against professional dancers, Graziano Di Prima and Giovanni Pernice who will not be participating in the show.

A BBC announcement about ticket sales for the show later this year confirmed that the dance competition would be continuing in the autumn.

A statement read: ‘Strictly Come Dancing will be bringing the sparkle back to Saturday nights on BBC One later this year.

‘And in advance of this year’s live shows we have an exciting opportunity to experience a taste of the magical studio experience by applying for tickets to watch our Strictly pros in action!’

This news comes as the BBC announced that they are taking drastic action to make changes to the show.

‘Concerns that have arisen in recent months have been fundamentally about training and rehearsals. The actions we announce today are designed to address that,’ it was announced.

It was revealed that dance rehearsals will now be more carefully monitored with a chaperone present at all times and new welfare roles will be introduced.

Although these changes are set to be introduced, some have suggested that the Strictly shouldn’t continue this season given the shocking stories that have emerged.

It was reported that Graziano Di Prima, 30, left the BBC series following claims of ‘physical incidents’, including allegations he ‘kicked and hit’ his 2023 partner, Zara McDermott.

On Thursday, July 18, a spokesperson confirmed that Di Prima did kick his former dance partner.

Speaking on BBC News, Mark Borkowksi said there was ‘never a time when kicking, or any sense of that is right’.

‘And he knows that. He knows he’s made a mistake. He apologised at the time.’

Di Prima is the second dancer to leave Strictly after reports of backstage conduct. Di Prima has said he ‘deeply regrets’ his behaviour.

Giovanni Pernice is under investigation after his most recent partner Amanda Abbington quit Strictly after five weeks in 2023 and claimed to have been . Pernice denies any wrongdoing.
