Montreal police have launched an investigation after a downtown restaurant was targeted by a firebomb early Thursday.
Police spokesperson Véronique Dubuc said a preliminary investigation found that the arsonist broke the restaurant’s window and threw in the firebomb before fleeing. The restaurant was empty at the time and there were no injuries.
Damage to the restaurant was minor and the incident is being investigated by the arson squad.
