DJ Tomcraft known for huge 00s club hit Loneliness dies aged 49

German DJ and producer Thomas Br, known as Tomcraft, has died aged 49.

The star was behind 2003 club hit Loneliness, which topped the UK Singles chart.

His family confirmed the news of his death on social media on Tuesday, writing: ‘R.I.P. With a heavy heart we need to inform you that yesterday, the 15.07.2024, our beloved father and husband has passed away.

‘We will forever carry you in our hearts and love you until we’re reunited again.

‘Sincerely, your family. Bine, Max, Amelie and Sophie.’

Fans rushed to pay tribute, with DJ Benny Benassi writing in the comments: ‘my good …. I’m so sorry …. We were Ministry of sound artist in the same period. Loneliness it was my first remix after satisfaction was release.’

Dutch music duo Showtek wrote: ‘Rest in peace legend. Thanks for your music , and the love you spread around the world.’

As well as Loneliness, Bruckner was behind club hits including The Circle, Prosac and Silence.

The first time he played his biggest hit in a club, he recalled the response being ‘unbelievable’.

‘People were screaming and acting really crazy,’ he said.

The song went on to play for 13 consecutive weeks on Judge Jules’ BBC Radio 1 show, and featured in Saltburn.
