CNN’s John King shares ‘more bad news’ for Biden as polls show Trump leading in swing states

CNN’s John King said some Dems believe former President Donald Trump may clinch victory in November with a whopping 330 electoral votes — calling it “more bad news” for President Biden.

The longtime CNN correspondent and political journalist delivered the network’s latest polling data on Tuesday, which showed Trump in the lead.

“The state of the race on night two of the Republican convention is Donald Trump is leading in this race,” King said. “Significantly, if you look deep into the polling. He has a chance to build on it.”

Anchor Wolf Blitzer noted that Trump pulled ahead of Biden in “all these key battleground states” in the latest polls.

King pointed out a “striking” contrast between the 2020 election — when Biden won with 306 electoral votes compared to Trump’s 232 — and the upcoming 2024 election.

The CNN polling data showed Trump leading in swing states including Arizona, Nebraska, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

King said if the election “were today and the map played out like this, even if the toss-ups went blue, Donald Trump would win the election.”

New CNN polls found Biden’s approval ratings have sunk to below 40% in key battleground states, King said.

“The president’s standing, his approval rating, his ballot number, people’s views about how old he is and people who view the state of the economy are very bad for the president right now,” King said. “Donald Trump is in command.”

The polls come soon after an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally that left the controversial former president bleeding from the ear.

Many have wondered if the shooting will boost Trump’s approval rating.

Politicians, Wall Street leaders and Hollywood celebs spoke out in support of the former president soon after the Saturday shooting — and some have even issued last-minute endorsements.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk backed Trump on X just 30 minutes after the shooting.

The billionaire — with a net worth of $254.5 billion, according to Forbes — plans to give $45 million per month to a new Trump super PAC, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The stock market has even swung in Trump’s favor.

“The events on Saturday, if they do anything, they strengthen the case for President Donald Trump to win the election in November,” Rob Casey, partner at markets advisory firm Signum Global Advisors, told CNBC. “I think that’s what the markets have reacted to.”

Bitcoin shares surged to a two-week high on Monday as crypto bets on Trump, who has slammed Dem attempts to regulate the sector.

Voters are also betting big on the former president — literally.

Contracts for a Trump win on the political wagering site PredictIt traded at 67 cents on Wednesday and 28 cents for Biden.
