Biden to throw ‘Doo-Wop’ dance for seniors — as Trump rallies behind youthful VP pick JD Vance

President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are countering the youth and vigor of former President Donald Trump’s 39-year-old vice-presidential pick J.D. Vance with . . . the oldies?

The Biden-Harris campaign is hosting a virtual “Rock n’ Doo-Wop Party” Wednesday afternoon in an homage to its elderly supporters.

There’s no word on whether it’ll dispatch tech help for the senior attendees having trouble connecting to Zoom.

Emceeing the event is Social Security Works PAC President and Vice-Chair of the Democratic National Committee Senior Council Jon “Bowzer” Bauman.

Other musical guests for the on-screen shindig: Martha Reeves, Gene Chandler, Gary U.S. Bonds, Jay Siegel, Peggy March, LaLa Brooks and Johnny Contardo.

“As the Rock ‘n Doo-Wop Party will highlight, the stakes for older Americans in this election could not be higher,” the Biden campaign said. “President Biden has made it a cornerstone of his presidency to ensure that Americans can age with dignity. Donald Trump and JD Vance are running on an agenda that would be catastrophic to America’s seniors.”

Bauman added that events like this show the Biden-Harris campaign is dedicated to “showing up and earning seniors’ support.”

This news comes as 82-year-old Biden continues to face unprecedented scrutiny over his cognitive ability and less than 48 hours after Trump selected 39-year-old Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance as his running mate — the country’s first millennial on a presidential ticket.

Both Trump and Vance were certified unanimously this week as the Republican candidates for the White House on Tuesday at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

Biden’s age and acuity continue to be prime targets for his Republican opponents.

A July poll by Data for Progress revealed that 67% of voters believe Biden is too old to be president while only 35% of voters express similar concerns about Trump.

And two-thirds of Democrats now think Biden should cancel his campaign and step aside.

By choosing Vance, Trump is showing he’s not afraid to make age an issue this election.

Clinging steadfastly to his candidacy and throwing sock hops for seniors, Biden is doing the same thing — much to his own detriment.
