Driver arrested after pedestrian struck in St. Hubert

Man, 41, to face charge of dangerous driving, Longueuil police say.

Longueuil police say they have arrested a man who struck a pedestrian with his vehicle Monday, putting the victim in critical condition.

Const. Mélanie Mercille says the 41-year-old man will face a charge of dangerous driving.

The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was still in critical condition Tuesday morning, she said.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Payer Blvd. and Jarry St. in Longueuil’s St. Hubert borough.
