Calgary police looking for victim, suspects involved in June assault

Investigators have been reviewing CCTV footage to identify the victim and suspects

At about 12:40 a.m. on June 2, police received a call from a security guard regarding an assault that took place in the middle of Macleod Trail S.E. between 7th Avenue and 6th Avenue.

The security guard reported seeing a group of people surround a man, hitting him with objects the guard believed to be chains and bats.

The group fled before officers arrived, though one suspect was located by police in the area. The suspect was arrested and later released, pending further investigation.

The victim headed toward the City Hall LRT platform and has not come forward to police since the incident.

Investigators have been reviewing CCTV footage to identify the victim and suspects. Police have released photos of those believed to have been involved, hoping the public may recognize any of the individuals.
