Montreal police seek suspect in Côte-des-Neiges stabbing

A 31-year-old man was hospitalized with upper-body injuries.

A 31-year-old man was recovering in hospital early Monday after being stabbed hours earlier as he attended a gathering in a Côte-des-Neiges apartment.

Montreal police said they received 911 calls at about 1:35  a.m. reporting that a man had been stabbed at an apartment on Darlington Ave. near Kent Ave.

Officers arriving at the scene found the victim wounded in the upper body. He was conscious when taken to hospital and his injuries are not considered life threatening.

A suspect was still being sought at sunrise Monday and the motive for the attack has yet to be established.
