Man drowns at Waskesiu Lake

A man was pronounced dead at the scene after drowning at Waskesiu Lake.

A Saskatchewan RCMP news release said members of the Waskesiu detachment along with EMS and Parks Canada wardens responded Sunday around 3 p.m. to multiple calls about a man in distress in the lake.

Police said the man was removed from the water and declared dead at the scene.

The provincial coroner has taken carriage of the investigation.

RCMP said since this is considered a sudden death investigation with “no element of criminality,” no further details will be released.
