One of the stars of ITV’s This Morning has revealed that his health condition is still causing him to suffer a great deal of pain, explaining that his latest update is ‘a bit grim frankly’.

Earlier this month, Matthew Wright shared that he had been rushed to hospital after he experienced severe pain in his neck while in the process of moving house.

While he previously shared some words of positivity, saying that he had ‘definitely improved’ after being given medication and resting, he’s now explained that the agony has returned.

In a series of tweets shared on X, the presenter began by informing his followers that he was ‘doing ok’, stating about his medication: ‘Pregabalin is good, pain now just annoying.’

He continued: ‘I don’t want to tear my head off any more!.☠️ getting an MRI tomorrow and guided steroid injection some time after. Hopefully that’ll do the job 🤞thanks again for the love 🥰 never experienced pain like it!’

However, a few hours later, he disclosed that he was back in hospital after ‘the nerve kicked off big time’.

‘Unbelievable. I’m back in hospital after the nerve kicked off big time, screaming grinding pain. Paramedics once again incredible but no resolution on the horizon which is a bit grim frankly x,’ he stated.

After another few hours, the 59-year-old stated that he’d had ‘another excellent NHS experience’.

‘More drugs, stronger ones and a hope things might improve in the next couple of weeks. F***ing hope so coz I’ve had enough of this already. Thanks for your good wishes again 🥰🥰,’ he concluded.

When he revealed that he was enduring ‘screaming grinding pain’, he received plenty of messages of support.

One X user called Miffy wrote: ‘I’m so sorry to hear this. Nerve pain is excruciating. I hope some relief can [be] brought asap.’

David commented: ‘So sorry Matthew. Fingers crossed this can be sorted out very soon,’ while Duncan added: ‘Good that you were still in London for all this, hang on in there. The MRI should point the way forward.’

A few days ago, Matthew told his followers that it was looking as though he was going to have to pay for a ‘nerve blocking drug’ in his neck, otherwise he would have to ‘face months of pain’.

‘Not sure I’ve got a choice,’ he added at the time. ‘Meds today are definitely keeping worst of pain at bay.’

He had previously described his pain as being ‘off the scale’ as he looked ahead to having scans in hospital.
