The UK is set to see sunshine today after days of clouds and rain – just in time for the Euros finals this evening.
Patchy rain was reported in the north and east yesterday, with England and Wales at risk of heavy showers.
But that’s changed now – as the Wimbledon Men’s Finals and the Euros championship today.
Met Office Chief Meteorologist Steven Ramsdale said: ‘However, there’s a drier interlude building in from the west on Sunday which will reduce the frequency of showers compared with previous days and introduce some sunshine for many.
‘Temperatures are likely to peak around 22°C in the southeast, which is a return to near average for the time of year after the recent cool spell.’
Met Office meteorologist Simon Partridge said: ‘[Sunday] is sunshine and showers across the whole of the UK, but not quite as windy as Saturday.’
Temperatures will remain a bit cooler than average, however. London weather will peak at a temperature of 22C tomorrow.
In Bristol, the mercury will hit 22C, Brighton will see 19C and Manchester will hit 18C.
Meteorologist Aidan McGivern said temperatures would be ‘a little closer to the average for the time of year’ on July 14.
He said: ‘It’s warming up slightly – it’s certainly going to feel more humid in the south when the sun comes through, 23C or so, that’s not far from average.’
After the Euros are over, Britain will unfortunately go back to cloudy skies and rain.
But on Monday, temperatures are set to reach 25C in southern England.
