Shameless lefties on social media came under fire for celebrating the assassination attempt on Donald Trump – with some even lamenting that the shooter missed and that it was “close to being the best day ever.”
“You’re telling me somebody finally had the balls to bring a ‘pew-pew,’ and they missed?” a TikTok user @cele2t3 posted shortly after Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at the Butler Farm Show grounds Saturday, narrowly missing Trump and killing one attendee.
“We were a second away, we were a centimeter away from half of the problem being gone and you missed!” the poster – who appeared to be driving while recording – cried into the camera.
“There was a white man attached to that trigger, I know it! We were a centimeter away!” they added.
The video was reposted by the right-wing account Libs of TikTok, which accused the individual of being “deranged” and an “unhinged leftist.”
Kyle Rittenhouse – the Trump supporter who gained national attention when he fatally shot two men and injured a third at a protest in August 2020 – replied to the video, saying that the FBI “should probably have a conversation” with the person in the video.
Libs of TikTok also shared a compilation of other TikTokkers celebrating – and joking about – the shooting, which also critically wounded two other bystanders.
In one video, the poster held up a candle and sarcastically tried to summon the spirit of John Wilkes Booth, the actor who assassinated President Abraham Lincoln in 1865.
“John Wilkes Booth, if you are with us, please, please…” the person said before trailing off and snickering.
“We’re not even sending our best to f–ing assassinate,” another video claimed.

“Because what was that? [JFK assassin] Lee Harvey Oswald would never, bitch! John Wilkes Booth would never!” they insisted.
“How the f–k did you shoot and miss?” another TikTokker with the handle @yourfavorites7880 asked incredulously.
“No, bitch, if you have a mission make sure you hit that target right,” they continued, adding “Bitch, you ain’t practice before you get your a– over there, huh?”
“Today was, like, this close to being the best day ever,” another TikTok user said sadly in a selfie video that showed them sitting on a couch while what sounded like the television news played in the background.
Some people took their thoughts to the street, including a woman who wielded a makeshift cardboard sign that read “Wishing Trump a long terrible recovery!” not far from Butler Memorial Hospital, where the former president was examined after the incident.
Some online commenters also used the Saturday evening assassination attempt as a chance to poke fun at President Joe Biden, who has elicited growing concerns over his mental fitness following a disastrous debate last month and a subsequent series of gaffes.
In one post, an X user shared a photo of Biden, 81, with his mouth agape with the caption ‘Someone shot my vice president???” – referring to the moment earlier this week when the president referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as “Vice President Trump” during a press conference.
