Pedestrian hit by vehicle near Highway 50 in Mirabel

On Saturday morning, the Sûreté du Québec said his condition was stable and there was no longer a fear for his life.

A pedestrian suffered serious injuries when struck by a vehicle Friday night near Highway 50 in Mirabel.

Around 8:30 p.m., emergency services were alerted to an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near the junction of Highway 50 East and the exit to Highway 15 North.

According to preliminary information, the driver, a man in his 20s, hit a pedestrian who was on the edge of the roadway on Highway 50.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital. On Saturday morning, the Sûreté du Québec said his condition was stable and that there was no longer a fear for his life.

The driver, meanwhile, was arrested and could face charges of dangerous driving causing injury.

In order to better understand the causes and circumstances surrounding the event, accident scene specialists were to visit the site.

The junction of Highway 50 East toward Highway 15 North was closed to traffic.
