Saskatoon police investigating armed home invasion

Three men armed with bear spray and a gun broke into a Saskatoon home early Friday morning and assaulted a 22-year-old man at gunpoint before fleeing, city police say.

Three men armed with bear spray and a gun broke into a home in Saskatoon’s Richmond Heights neighbourhood early Friday morning and assaulted a 22-year-old man at gunpoint before fleeing, city police say.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 70 block of Rupert Drive, police said in a news release.

The victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening. A second man who was inside the home at the time of the break-in was not injured.

“After an article search by a police service dog, officers located and seized a discarded shotgun a short distance away,” the release said.

An investigation is ongoing.
