Substitute Ollie Watkins scored in the 90th minute to put England through to the 2024 European Championship final, giving the Three Lions a 2-1 win over the Netherlands in Wednesday’s semifinal in Dortmund, Germany.
England will take on Spain in the championship game on Sunday.
Watkins received a pass in the box, held off a challenge from Netherlands center back Stefan de Vrij and calmly turned to fire a shot across the face of the goal and past Netherlands goalie Bart Verbruggen to seal the victory.
Xavi Simons put the Netherlands up 1-0 in the seventh minute, but a Harry Kane penalty kick leveled the score in the 18th minute.
The game seemed destined for extra time until Watkins’ heroics.
