Ruth Langsford is set to open up about her divorce from Eamonn Holmes next week on Loose Women, claims a source.

On May 25, Ruth, 64, and Eamonn, 64, revealed that they were parting ways after 27 years together.

A spokesperson confirmed at the time: ‘Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.’

Months on from the split it appears the star is ready to break her silence on their break up as she returns to presenting duties on Loose Women next week.

‘The presenters on Loose Women have a history of opening up about their marriage splits on air and it’s a very supportive environment.

‘Ruth knows the viewers are heavily invested in her breakup so she will be addressing her and Eamonn for the first time on the show,’ a TV insider told MailOnline.

‘The audience has been there through the highs and the lows of her relationship, she has always been very open and honest and next week will be no different… she owes it to the viewers to say something.

‘She will be surrounded by the people she’s closest to on the show and then will be drawing a line under it… she has no plans to do a big interview, this will be the one and only time she speaks.’

Since the announcement was made that the pair were separating, Eamonn has spoken about their split on GB News.

‘I’d just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation,’ he said in May, soon after the split was revealed.

‘Your support for both of us is very much appreciated.’

In contrast, Ruth took a break from Loose Women and has yet to publically address their split.

Reports have suggested that Ruth feels guilty that Eamonn’s health has taken a turn after their split

This comes after the GB News presenter, was seen using a walking aid, claimed he was on ‘borrowed time’ and said: ‘I’m not OK. This is not a good time at all.’

Some reports have suggested that the split has become nasty as an insider told MailOnline: ‘Ruth took Eamonn’s words as a dig at her. She found it unfair and hurtful.’

They added: ‘friends are worried this is going to get very nasty.’
