Queen of Pop Madonna shared her gratitude for life on social media as she celebrated one year since she returned home following her shock hospitalisation.

The Like a Virgin hitmaker was rushed to ICU in June 2023 with a serious bacterial infection that left friends, family, and fans fearing the worst.

After being put into an induced coma, she was also forced to postpone her highly-anticipated Celebration Tour.

In early July the star, 65, returned home to continue her recovery with fans from across the globe sending their well wishes.

The mum-of-six – who was surrounded by her supportive children – has previously said it’s a ‘f***king miracle’ that she is ‘here right now’ and that she originally struggled to even walk around her home.

Now, in a new post on Instagram to celebrate July 4 and one year since she left the hospital, she shared with fans just how blessed she is.

‘A year ago today, I had just come home from the hospital after surviving a life-threatening illness, I could barely stand in my backyard holding one sparkler.

‘I made a miraculous recovery and had an amazing year. Thank you God. Life is beautiful!’ she wrote in the caption.

She posted it alongside a series of images of her in a red jumpsuit celebrating the US holiday with friends and a new guy she seemed to be getting pretty cosy with on the couch.

Fans shared their support for the Material Girl singer in the comments.

‘Words can’t express how scared we were to lose you. Thank god indeed! More power to you fantastic artistic mother,’ @cicconefreak wrote.

‘And wow, what a comeback with an amazing concert. Incredible resilience. I hope you are looking after yourself and are thriving,’ @mkstarboy added.

‘Madge we are so glad you’re healthy. Just keep rocking,’ @reggaeton_cookie added.

In a heartfelt speech to fans in March this year, Madonna reflected further on her journey since being found unresponsive.

‘When I woke up, the first word I said was “No.” Anyway, that’s what my assistant tells me And I’m pretty sure that God was saying to me, “Do you wanna come with us? You wanna come with me? You wanna go this way?” And I said, “No. No. No!”‘

She also spoke about her decision to get back on track with the tour so soon after.

‘When [my manager Guy Oseary] said, “Well, when do you think you wanna go back on tour?”… I took the oxygen out of my nose, I looked at him, and I said, “In two f***ing months!” … I swear to God, I just said it.

‘And sometimes you just gotta say s**t, put that out in the universe, and it happens.’

The music artist kicked off her record-breaking world tour, which covered her four-decade-long career, in October last year.

It concluded in May with a historic free concert drawing 1.6 million people to Rio’s Copacabana beach.

Not only that but live music publication Pollstar recently confirmed Madonna scored the highest-grossing worldwide tour of 2024 with average ticket prices of $208.85 (£163.05).

Although it was not without its hiccups. Two concertgoers sued her for showing up late to her show which she has vigorously defended as down to technical issues.

Another fan filed a lawsuit against Madonna and associated parties after feeling like they were ‘subjected to pornography without warning’.
