Kris Jenner has revealed she will be getting her ovaries ‘taken out’, after doctors discovered ‘a cyst and a tumor’.
The 68-year-old has been very vocal about her health issues in the last few years, with cameras following her through her recent hip replacement, as well as doctors’ appointments.
In the latest episode of the Kardashians, she became emotional as she opened up to her family about the prospect of getting her ovaries removed for good.
‘I wanted to tell you guys something because I hadn’t told you yet, but I went to the doctor and I had my scan,’ the momager told daughters Khloe, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner.
‘They found a cyst and a little tumor on my ovary, and so I went to the doctor and Dr A [Dr Thaïs Aliabadi] said I’ve got to have my ovaries taken out.
‘I’m just really emotional about it because they came in handy with you guys.’
Kris teared up as she shared her heartbreak over a huge chapter of her life now being ‘gone’, but didn’t go into further detail about the upcoming operation.
‘It’s also a thing about getting older and it’s a sign we’re done with this part of life,’ she cried. ‘It’s a whole chapter that has just closed.
‘It’s so silly.’
Addressing the ovary removal – known as an oophorectomy – during an on-camera interview, the businesswoman added: ‘I’m emotional about it because that’s where all my kids were conceived and that’s where they were grown, in my tummy. It’s a very sacred place for me.
‘People often ask me what’s the best job I’ve ever had, and I’ve always said mom. The biggest blessing in my life was being able to give birth to six beautiful kids.’
The preview for next week’s episode also saw the family rallying around the matriarch as she prepared for her operation.
Kris’ latest health scare comes two years after she last went under the knife for a hip replacement, as a result of ‘excruciating pain’.
However, she also got emotional at the thought of needing the surgery as it represented her body getting older.
‘The pain that I’ve been feeling seems to be getting in the way of my life and that is not something that I can really tolerate or have the patience for,’ she said in a 2022 episode of the Hulu series.
‘I have this beautiful fabulous life and I have so many kids and grandkids that I want to share it with. All I want to do is fix the problem and move on so I can live the best, longest life possible.
‘You just realize you don’t have that much more time. Suddenly, I can’t do all the things… My hip goes out, my knee is torn. I have an eye infection, I can’t see. I have the TV up too loud and Corey says I can’t hear.
‘It’s like I feel like Humpty Dumpty.’
