Karen Read attorney Alan Jackson steps out with wife after he was spotted canoodling with client

Karen Read’s attorney Alan Jackson was spotted out with his wife in Los Angeles just hours after The Post revealed images that appeared to show him getting handsy with his high-profile client.

Jackson and his wife, LA County Deputy District Attorney Lisa Kassabian, pulled up to their home together in one of their two BMW SUVs Wednesday after apparently hitting the gym and picking up some lunch.

Clad in workout attire, Kassabian carried an armful of bags from the car — and was not wearing a wedding ring on her left hand.

His own hands were obscured by his phone and a bag of what appeared to be take-out food — though he was seen with a ring on his wedding finger in court earlier this week.

Kassabian, who married Jackson in 2011, had a grim expression as they left their car, while her husband kept his eyes down and his face set straight.

It was the first sighting of the couple since The Post published an iPhone Live image that appeared to show Jackson embracing Read outside a Boston steakhouse last week as jurors deliberated in her murder trial.

The 1.5-second clip appeared to show Jackson embrace Read from behind with one arm wrapped across her midsection and one across her chest, then pull her giggling into his body as he nuzzled his head against her shoulder.

The photo was taken on June 27 outside Smith and Wollensky in downtown Boston, and the outfits apparently worn by Jackson and Read matched clothing they’d been earlier photographed in.

Metadata from the original photo reviewed by The Post verified that the image was real.

A source close to Read said the image was “taken out of context” and that it was “nothing to this other than goofing around” after Read and her legal team went out to dinner, TMZ reported on Wednesday.

Read, who was accused of running down her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe, in 2022 and leaving him to die in a snowbank. Jackson argued that she was the victim of a frame-job by local cops.

His strong defense swayed at least some jurors, as the judge declared a mistrial Monday when the jury said it was hopelessly deadlocked.

“It looked wrong and inappropriate so I just grabbed the closest phone and took a picture,” the person who snapped the photo told The Post.

“It looked inappropriate for an attorney-client type situation,” they added.

Neither Jackson nor Read have responded to requests for comment from The Post.

The Karen Read trial was just Jackson’s latest high-profile case; previous clients of the high-flying prosecutor-turned-defense attorney include Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein.
