Robert Andrich has revealed his new pink haircut ahead of Germany’sEuro 2024 quarter final against Spain.

The 29-year-old has started all four of Germany’s games at Euro 2024 so far and is expected to keep his place in midfield for their clash against Spain, which kicks off at 5pm on Friday.

Andrich has already unveiled one new hairstyle during the tournament as he opted for a platinum blond look for Germany’s 2-0 win over Denmark in the round-of-16 last Saturday.

And for Germany’s final training session on Thursday, Andrich switched it up once again as he stepped out alongside his teammates with a bright pink trim.

Speaking about his decision to change hairstyles during Germany’s Euro 2024 campaign, Andrich said: ‘I’ve been thinking about getting a new colour for a while. Those who have been following me for a while or my friends and family won’t be surprised.’

During the tournament, Andrich also revealed his love for eating mealworms, which are illegal to import into the UK.

‘I love mealworms. They are a good source of protein,’ the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder said.

‘In fact I don’t just love them – I think they are awesome.’

Meanwhile, Andrich’s Germany teammate, Toni Kroos, is adamant that the quarter-final tie against Spain will not be the final game of his career after announcing his decision to retire from football before the tournament.

‘We will still be in the tournament for a while,’ Kroos said.

‘I don’t think tomorrow will be my last game. I think we’ll see each other again, and I look forward to it.’

Kroos, who was part of Germany’s World Cup victory in 2014 had stepped down from the national team in 2021 but agreed to return in March for Euro 2024.

‘The idea of returning was tied to the goal of winning the Euros,’ Kroos said.

‘If I didn’t see the chance of achieving it with the team, I wouldn’t have done it.’
