The future of the Calgary Flames is going to be on display at Winsport this weekend.
Thirty-eight of the organization’s prospects will be coming together for the club’s annual development camp, including almost all of the players who were selected in last week’s draft.
It’s the first chance for Calgary hockey fans to get a look at ninth-overall pick Zayne Parekh, who will be skating on the blueline for Team MacNeil, as will No. 28 pick Matvei Gridin.
Team Crisp’s roster includes highly-touted defenceman Hunter Brzustewicz and second-round draft pick Jacob Battaglia and third-rounder Henry Mews.
The only 2024 draft pick who will not be attending is Russian goaltender Kirill Zarubin, who the Flames took at No. 84. Otherwise, the other nine players they selected will all be skating at the camp, which starts Thursday with on-ice evaluations for Team McNeil at 10:45 a.m. and Team MacNeil at noon and runs through Saturday.
