Now that the mayor’s office has received a Florida Panthers jersey, Sohi will wear the jersey at Wednesday’s city council meeting.

The mayor’s office confirmed the receipt of the jersey and said that the mayor would wear it while reading a statement at the beginning of the council meeting.

Prizes to be claimed

Though many of us may be disappointed to have a painstakingly combed through 50/50 tickets, just to find it was someone else’s number was drawn, there is still one lucky winner who hasn’t caught on to their luck.

The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) announced the winners of its prizes last week, which have all been claimed except for one. The main jackpot was claimed last week, but the identity of the lucky recipient of the $10,844,385 jackpot has yet to be revealed, although the foundation said that the person’s name would be released “shortly.”

Fans may have to wait a little longer for the playoff bonus jackpot, which has still not been claimed by a winner.

The winning ticket holder for regular draws has a short window of just four days to come forward and present the winning ticket. The bonus jackpot has different rules, giving ticketholders up to 90 days from the date of the draw to come forward with the winning ticket and claim their prize.

Should no one come forth with a winning ticket, the foundation said that the prize money —$4,029,970 — will be donated to a “charitable beneficiary approved by Alberta Gaming Liquor and Cannabis.”

So, the clock is ticking until Sept. 24 for one fan to realize their luck.
