Who doesn’t love the feeling of seeing items they were about to purchase on Clubcard prices?

Tesco’s discounted items for cardholders encourage shoppers to buy the yellow-labelled products and stock up on points.

And now one woman has shared a trick to finding out just how long the offer lasts, so you can take advantage when you want – and, more crucially, before it’s too late.

Content creator Gemma Bird, who goes by @moneymumofficial on TikTok, said a simple little hack could be useful for your next shop.

The mum and author said Clubcard offers have a code on them which you can decipher to figure out the expiry.

Gemma took her followers to a trip down to Tesco and revealed what the code looks like.

Zooming into the normal price and discounted Clubcard price, Gemma said there’s a number to look out for. This is a six-digit figure which shows when the offer is about to expire.

So, say you love ice creams and you get a voucher for them, but won’t be getting home any time soon, you can simply come back before the offer ends and snap up the deal at a later date.

It’s also ideal if you’re waiting for pay day to do your food shop.

Gemma shows, for example, an item that has the code 230704, meaning it was valid until July 4, 2023.

You might be a bit confused by the date order but just be mindful that the code follows year/month/day format.

And it’s a win-win if you find items on offer, as every pound you spend in store adds one Clubcard point.

Which means the more you shop, the more points you rack up which you can redeem in the form of vouchers.

And you can also use your Clubcard online to access more discounts and exchange points for rewards.

And more good news for the supermarket customers, as Tesco shoppers could be win free Clubcard points worth £50.

Clubcard users who also have an OVO Energy account can cash in.

If you’re one of the millions of OVO Energy customers, it might be time to get yourself a Clubcard.

So how does the freebie work? Starting from last week, OVO Energy customers can earn 2,500 free Tesco Clubcard points just by linking their accounts online.

Millions of Clubcard customers can then convert the 2,500 points into a £24 voucher, or it can be doubled in value to £50 when redeemed with one of Tesco’s Reward Partners which includes more than 100 high street brands.

These partners include the likes of Disney+, Alton Towers Resort and English Heritage – among many others which offer a huge array of fun activities and excursions.

For example, you could use the £50 towards a day out at Alton Towers.

The deal applies to both new and existing OVO energy customers.

While the offer is pretty good for families who can redeem the points for a fun day out, in the past Tesco’s offer was even rewarding.

Before last June, customers were able to swap their Tesco vouchers for up to three times their worth on Reward Partners.

Now, customers can now claim two times the value of their vouchers at places including Virgin Atlantic, Disney+, Legoland and Cafe Rouge.

The change occurred last year after the supermarket’s systems crashed. Let’s hope they bring it back, ’cause who doesn’t love a sweet deal?
