Man defrauds South Shore residents in alleged home maintenance scheme: police

It is alleged that Patrice Lamer, 42, bilked residents out of more than $40,000 by selling services that were never rendered.

A man who allegedly bilked South Shore residents out of more than $40,000 by selling them maintenance services that were never rendered has been arrested by Longueuil police, who believe others may have fallen victim to the scheme.

Patrice Lamer, 42, was arrested by the Longueuil police after four warrants were issued against him. To date, he has been implicated in some 20 alleged cases.

According to police, Lamer would show up at his victims’ homes to offer services for paving work on their driveways. He claimed to work for a company called Gestion Multi Pro.

He allegedly demanded cash deposits ranging from $450 to $3,700. According to the police, in some cases the work was only partially completed, while in others it was never even started.

In addition to paving, Lamer also allegedly began offering his victims painting services, balcony repair and interlocking paving.

The first alleged victims, located in Brossard and Longueuil, contacted police themselves. As the investigation progressed, other victims came forward.
