Simone Biles said her husband, Bears safety Jonathan Owens, will be in Paris to support her at the 2024 Olympics.
Owens, who is entering his first season with the Bears following a one-year stint with the Packers, is being granted an excused absence for a portion of training camp so he can watch the beloved Olympic gymnast chase her fifth gold medal as a member of Team USA.
“The Bears are actually granting him a couple days off from training camp, so he’ll be there, yes — for just a short little time,” Biles said after securing her third trip to the Olympics following the U.S. Olympic trials on Sunday night, per USA Today Sports.
Biles, who wed Owens, 28, last spring, added, when their schedules do sync up, “It’s really important for the both of us to show up in support.”
“Anytime we can show up for one another in support, we just get super excited because our schedules don’t align that much,” Biles said.
The Bears open training camp on July 23, three days before the Opening Ceremony in Paris.
Chicago is then set to play in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game against Houston — Owens’ former team — on Aug. 1 in Canton, Ohio.
It’s unclear when exactly Owens will head to Paris.
Owens, who signed a two-year deal with the Bears in March, was seen cheering for Biles at the U.S. Olympic Trials at the Target Center in Minneapolis this weekend with her family.
Biles’ brother, Ron Biles II, and her mother, Nellie Biles, were in attendance.
Ronald Biles, the gymnast’s maternal grandfather, and Nellie adopted Biles when she was 6 years old, along with her sister, Adria.
“We going to Paris,” Owens wrote on his Instagram Story, where he included a photo of Biles atop the leaderboard for Team USA on Sunday.
In a recent interview with The Post, Owens expressed that he was hoping things would work out with his schedule so he could see Biles compete overseas.
He attended all of Biles’ meets this summer.
The Paris Olympics mark the first time Owens will be in attendance for one of Biles’ international events, as spectators weren’t allowed at the Tokyo Games in 2021 due to COVID regulations.
Owens missed the 2023 Gymnastics World Championships last fall, when Biles won four golds at the event, due to the NFL schedule.
Biles and Owens — who have been together since 2020 after meeting on the dating app Raya — celebrated their first wedding anniversary in April.
In addition to Biles, this year’s Team USA roster consists of Suni Lee, the reigning Olympic all-around champion; Jade Carey, the 2021 Olympic gold medalist for the floor exercise; Olympic silver medalist Jordan Chiles; and New Jersey native Hezly Rivera, a two-time 2023 Junior World Championships silver medalist and 2024 Winter Cup balance beam champion.
Biles spent two years on hiatus after she backed out of multiple events in Tokyo following a bout with “the twisties,” an emotional block that occurs when a gymnast loses control of their body while twisting in the air that could potentially result in serious injury.
She returned for the balance beam final and won a bronze medal, tying Shannon Miller’s record for most Olympic medals (seven) by an American female gymnast.
The Paris Olympics run through Aug. 11.
