Sharangovich signs five-year extension with Flames

Yegor Sharangovich is sticking around Calgary.

The Flames’ top goal-scorer in 2023-24 signed a five-year extension worth $5.75-million per year on Monday morning in a deal announced by his agent Dan Milstein.

The 26-year-old scored 31 goals in his first year with the Flames last season after being acquired in the deal that sent Tyler Toffoli to the New Jersey Devils. He also added 28 assists while playing first-line minutes for his new team, even spending time at centre towards the end of the season.

The Belarussian had a previous career-high of 24 goals while with the Devils, but seemed to thrive with the bigger responsibilities handed to him by Flames head coach Ryan Huska.

Sharangovich was set to become an unrestricted free-agent next summer.
