There’s nothing like a nice cold treat on a hot summer’s day – and Lidl is now selling a new range that’ll have you taking another look at the freezer aisle.
You can choose from red wine, watermelon or blood orange, a far cry from the traditional Neopolitan flavours. The new options have come about after a rising trend for more interesting ones emerged online. Searches for unusual ice cream flavours such as avocado and pesto have increased by 82% and 100% respectively in the past month, according to Lidl’s research of Google search trends.
The red wine swirl ice cream is made from a blend of red wine flavoured sorbet and vanilla ice cream – perfect if you’re debating liquid dessert of your favourite sweet treat.
If you prefer refreshing flavours, you might be tempted by the watermelon swirl flavour – we’re particularly intrigud by the honeydew melon sauce.
Alternatively, if you fancy something sweet but zesty, the blood orange swirl could be the one for you – combining blood orange sorbet and vanilla ice cream.
More of an ice lolly person? There’s also the Bon Gelati melonnice watermelon lollies, mixing chocolate pieces with a zingy green apple flavour.
