Saskatoon police charge 15-year-old boy in fatal Taylor Street crash

The teen is charged with dangerous driving causing death, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and taking a vehicle without consent.

City police have charged a 15-year-old boy with dangerous driving causing death, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and taking a vehicle without consent in connection with a fatal crash in April.

Police issued a media release about the charges after the teen appeared in court on Wednesday. His name was not released, and is subject to a publication ban under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 6 a.m. on April 14 in the 4200 block of Taylor Street East.

A 16-year-old boy was declared dead at the scene. Two 15-year-old boys were taken to hospital — one with minor injuries and one with serious injuries.
