Mets’ Sean Reid-Foley lands on injured list in bullpen blow

The Mets’ bullpen depth took a hit on Saturday.

The team announced righty Sean Reid-Foley was heading to the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement retroactive to June 20 before the team’s afternoon matchup with the Cubs in Chicago.

Reid-Foley has been one of the team’s more reliable arms, posting a 1-2 record with a 1.66 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 21.2 innings as part of a bullpen that has been up and down this season.

Danny Young was called up from Triple-A Syracuse to replace Foley in the bullpen.

The lefty is 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in nine innings this season for the Mets.

Relievers Brooks Raley (season-ending elbow surgery) and Shintaro Fujinami (shoulder) are also on the IL.
