Four injured in collision between two vehicles on Champlain Bridge

Traffic was restricted on the bridge until around 11:15 a.m.

A collision Saturday morning on the Champlain Bridge in Brossard left four people injured, including one seriously, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) said.

The police department reports emergency services arrived on the bridge around 6:45 a.m. after a collision occurred between two vehicles.

The first information collected seems to indicate a first vehicle collided with a second. In the first vehicle, the driver, a man in his 20s, was slightly injured, while his passenger suffered serious, life-threatening injuries. Both were evacuated to hospital and the SQ said the passenger’s condition has since stabilized.

Two 50-year-old women, who were in the second vehicle, suffered only minor injuries.

Traffic was restricted on the bridge until around 11:15 a.m. so investigators and an SQ accident reconstructionist could examine the scene to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.
